During the meeting of the Committee it was declared that the Bill (Reg.№4794) envisages the elimination of the contiguities between the present financing practice of the Ukrainian participation in international peacemaking operations and the Law "On the Participation of Ukraine in International Peacemaking Operations".
The Members of the Committee emphasised that according to the current law, the order and the financing sources are determined during the adoption by the Parliament the decision on Ukrainian taking part in international peacemaking operation. Still, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts decision only regarding the direction of the peacemaking contingent and determines only the sources of its financing. The course of the financing on the practise is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The given authority delimitation is to be fixed by the amendments to the Law.
The Committee stressed that the principles of the Bill corresponded to the course of Ukraine concerning the European integration, and one of its elements was the strengthening of the security cooperation with the EU and the NATO.
